Send a letter to the editor
Speak up for animals and write a personal letter to the editor. It is as easy as finding your local newspaper's "Letters to the Editor" page online and sending an email.
It's more likely that your letter will be printed if it is short, ideally less than 200 words (if the letter is too long, it may be edited by someone who doesn't understand the issue). This is your opportunity to explain why animals matter to you and why they should matter to the next government, regardless of who wins. Just make one or two clear points. If you can, help spread the word about Vote for Animals by mentioning WSPA and the Vote for Animals website (www.voteforanimals.ca).
Editors want to hear from individuals in their area and may publish your letter. Be sure to include your name, address and telephone number, as many editors need to verify the author before publishing.
When you send your letter, please cc: wspa@wspa.ca and if you receive a response, please forward it to us as well.
Most newspapers you read will include contact details for their letters page as well as instructions. We have included links to the letters pages of Canada's two national newspapers.
The Globe and Mail
The National Post
Macleans
