WSPA opens office in Asia

On 13 September 2007, Thailand, HRH Princess Soamsawali of Thailand presided over the official opening of the WSPA Asia Headquarters in Bangkok. This new office allows WSPA Asia to work closely with more than 100 member societies from 27 countries in the Asian region.
During the opening ceremonies HRH Princess Soamsawali added her name to the Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare (UDAW), which seeks global recognition of the importance of the proper treatment of animals.
The ceremonies involved Dr. Hugh Wirth AM, WSPA Vice President, Peter Davies, Director General of WSPA.
